Silia and Vittoria Giannone are sisters-in-law who share vivid memories of immigrating from Italy in the 1960s. They started their married lives as part of a close-knit Italian group on Robert and Harbord Streets. Some memories are painful, most are joyous, all are colourful. Syvia Porretta is connected by marriage to the Giannone family, and still lives near the houses mentioned in this conversation.
