Ann, Bill and John Karner moved to Major Street in 1944 as small children with their German-speaking parents, and Ann still lives in the family home. They share detailed memories of crowded housing, local shops, small businesses, movie theatres, churches, and of serving as the Shabbos Goy for Jewish neighbours.
